Bezaliel - The Fallen Angel Of Shadows

I suppose at least some of us, have experience the feeling that something is approaching, when we are alone, especially in the dark. But when we look, there’s nothing to be found, and we feel like our own imagination is playing tricks of fear. That feeling of looking into the darkness and seeing nothing, is a familiar experience to all of us, at least for most of us. But often times we are truly being followed, only our human eyes fail to find the spirit. It is the fallen angel Bezaliel that brings such dreadful experiences. He is said to be the angel of shadows, and before his fall, he was the Shadow of God. He personified the shadows and shades in creation, taking away the sense of loneliness. Bezaliel then was appointed as one of the leaders of the watchers. He was well qualified in this task due to his capability of bringing warmth and comfort to lonely humans, in the form of a shadow.

Even before the fall, no other angel have seen his true form, because Bezaliel himself is a shadow. His features are all shrouded in just enough shadow that they cannot be made out, no matter what angle he stands at, nor how much light is shone on him. The only feature that was visible occasionally was his eyes. Bezaliel's eyes flare with bright white lights when he’s under stress.

God also gave him the ability to experience and influence the emotions of others, even that of angels. It is with this gift, he identify lonely souls. But with this power he also experience the sorrow and pain of others, so he was often filled with a lot of stress.

Bezaliel was the 13th Watcher of the 20 leaders of the 200 fellow watchers. Bezaliel, with the other watchers lust for the beauty of mortal women, betraying the holy cause tasked by god. After the fall, he demonized his abilities. Instead of warmth and comfort, he started to spread fear and loneliness. His preferences changed after the fall as well. Bezaliel started to like loneliness and hate the company of others. He follow a human only when he’s alone, with the objective to make him afraid. Bezaliel finds great joy in seen the fear in someone’s face.

It is also said, that at his side, he carries a sheathed sword. Neither angels nor demons have ever seen him draw this sward. He also carries a book, but no one knows the content of it. Bezaliel did not had the the book nor the sword during his time as an angel. They have appeared few years after the fall. Since Bezaliel avoids both angels and demons, nothing much is known about him. But during the fall, his mind was broken by the overload of the dying angels' feelings. Because of this, he was maddened with grief, and killed many angels who obeyed god’s command. It is believed, he has taken the sword of the first angel he killed and used it against the other angels. The book is believed to be filled with pain he experienced of his fellow watchers. He is believed to keep these objects to reminder. But there’s no true source that could verify this. Bezaliel is surely a unique creation of god. This makes him an interesting figure, but the lack of information makes it hard to justify what Bezaliel actually do other than taking the feeling of warmth.

Next time you feel the presence of an unseen being, know that it’s Bezaliel playing tricks with you and you have not gone crazy.
